The Jersey Swimarathon is the island’s largest sporting fundraiser and each year more than 3,000 swimmers take part in the five-day event. Each year the event raises money for a number of chosen beneficiaries and allows the Lions Club to continue its support of charitable causes and islanders in need.
The 2025 event saw more than 390 teams from schools, businesses, community groups and sports teams take part, collectively swimming 23,215 laps. The event raised more than £78,400 - beating the figure raised in 2024 by more than £1,500. The theme of this year’s event was “Support for those living with cancer” and the charities chosen were ABC Breast Cancer Support Jersey, CLIC Sargent Jersey, Friends of Jersey Oncology, Jersey Brain Tumour Charity, Jersey Cancer Relief, Macmillan Cancer Support and Jersey Hospice.
