This year’s Titan Wealth golf day raised over £22,000, taking the amount raised by the team for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey to over £300,000.
The annual event was previously organised by Advisa Wealth but following its acquisition by Titan Wealth, the day at La Moye showcased the new brand which has become a familiar name in the island.
‘The golf day was a huge success and further cemented the Titan Wealth brand in the island following the Hospice 10k, the 2025 Jersey Marathon Relay, the Swimarathon and the STEP Ball. It was a fantastic day enjoying the incredible course at La Moye and it’s just amazing that we have raised more than £22,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey,’ said managing director of Titan Wealth in the Channel Islands, Sophie Yabsley.
‘Hearing from Kat Freeman about the varied and invaluable support that the charity provides, we know the money raised will make a huge difference. It was also wonderful to welcome Christa Roberts, who in June ran more than 300km to mark one year since her breast cancer diagnosis, and everyone was moved by her openness on the impact the charity has had on her.’
The day saw 24 teams taking part with beat the pro, longest drive and nearest the pin challenges adding to the competitive spirit. Van Mossel won the team competition, William Church was nearest the pin and Matt Fielding and Rajah Abusrewil won the longest drives. A raffle and auction, with prizes donated by many local businesses, contributed to the fundraising total.
‘This was always the highlight of the Advisa Wealth calendar and so I am thrilled that Titan continued the tradition, not only by sponsoring the day but entering four teams and donating an incredible auction prize. To know that we have now raised more tan £100,000 for the charity is very humbling,’ said organiser Paul Frankland, who is a wealth consultant at Titan Wealth.
Mrs Freeman said the charity receives no government funding and so events like the Titan Wealth Golf Day were invaluable.
‘Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey offers free emotional support, practical information and group support to people in Jersey with any type of cancer and at any stage, along with their families and friends. Demand for our services is increasing month on month, year on year and we never turn anyone away,’ she said.
‘The money raised by the Titan Wealth Golf Day will be used to cover the costs of our wellbeing service which includes complementary therapies, activities, support, and diet and exercise advice. All of which we know make a huge difference to those battling cancer.’
